Ongoing Free Living Roots Workshops/Community Healing Arts

Every Sunday evening at 5:00 PM at Riverside Permaculture Gardens, we hold free community healing arts events. 2nd Sunday of the Month, there is a drum circle. 3rd Sunday of the Month - a potluck dinner. We are always changing the events for the other Sundays, but often include Yoga, Meditation, Discussion Cirlces, Personal Growth Workshops, and other Healing Modalities. Start an Organic Home Orchard - FREE - Sunday, March  25th from 2-6 PM at Riverside Permaculture Gardens – 580 Riverside Dr., Jasper – led by Blake Cothran

Do you wish to learn how to grow organic fruit at home?  Learn for free the ABC's of care and maintanence of fruit trees and bushes in the home landscape and beyond!  Be ready for an immersive experience drawing on Blake's decade of organic fruit growing experience.  Learn how to choose high quality plants, plan your project, properly plant and successfully grow organic fruit!  The program is free, hands-on and is open to anyone.  Suggested items to bring:  notebook and pen/recorder and outdoor clothes

Organic Gardening 101, with an Introduction to Permaculture - How to Start a Small Backyard Garden – FREE - Sunday, April 8th from 2-6 PM at Riverside Permaculture Gardens – 580 Riverside Dr., Jasper   - led by Michael Hicks
Topics will include the following:

Soil (awareness, building, testing, organic amendments)
Experiential – soil in water test, compost piles

Garden Design (guilds, placement within a small garden, companion planting)
Experiential – tour of garden

Plant Selection and Propagation (plant habitat, timing)
Experiential – greenhouse

Plant Care and Harvesting (pest/weeds management, disease, mulching)
Experiential – exploring garden
